QUETTA: A man and his son were gunned down in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan on Wednesday in an attack apparently motivated by tribal enmity.

Security forces identified the victims as Tagya Khan and Mehran Khan. Gunmen opened fire on the pair on Kashmoor Road in Sui, killing them on the spot. The gunmen escaped unidentified and unchallenged.

Levies, the tribal police force, drove the bodies to local hospital for autopsy.

“We think it [crime] was a targeted attack motivated by tribal enmity. We have registered a double murder case and investigations are ongoing,” a Levies official told The Express Tribune.

The bodies were handed over to the heirs for burial after medico-legal formalities.

Tribal disputes and old enmities claim hundreds of lives in the impoverished Balochistan province.
