ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan has said that tourism is being judged as one of the major sources of economic development across the world. Talking to APP, he said tourism was playing a leading role in economic uplift in many countries.

“In Pakistan, the sector remained a visible contributor to foreign exchange earnings in the past, but the law and order problems caused difficulties in this connection. But now peace has been restored in the entire country and the government is moving forward to implement its development plans on a vast scale.” He said northern areas were attracting a large number of tourists every year and their further development would add more tourists.
