The tenure of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly will end at 12 am on May 29 as the five-year term of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) concludes.
In a notification signed by Law Secretary Asghar Ali, the assembly is to dissolve at midnight under Article 107 of the Constitution, official announcement of the caretaker chief minister will also be made on Monday.
Asad Qaiser voices concern as tax exemption ends with K-P, FATA merger
Hours before the historic session of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly to pass the FATA Reforms bill, the speaker of the assembly, Asad Qaiser voiced concerns regarding the issue of tax exemption enjoyed by the people of Malakand division and added that the bill will roll back tax immunity previously granted to the people of the area.

Qaiser wrote a letter to the Speaker of National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq informing him about the objections raised by lawmakers belonging to the Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA-the Malakand division) over the omission of tax exemption enjoyed by the people of Pata before the 31st Constitutional Amendment Act 2018.
