Man sentenced to 28 years for possessing explosives
Convict Sarwar was arrested during a raid in Dherema
SARGODHA:
An anti-terrorist court (ATC) awarded 28 years imprisonment to an accused for possessing explosives in Sargodha. The judgment was announced by ATC Judge Traiq Mehmood Zargham.
The prosecution told the court that on November 23, 2017, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station conducted a raid in Dherema area in Sargodha and arrested Muhammad Sarwar.

The police also seized explosive material and hand grenades from his possession. The police registered a case against the accused under the Anti-terrorism Act and presented challan in the court.
During proceedings of the case, the accused was found guilty and was awarded 28 years rigorous imprisonment.
In another case, a drug pusher was convicted by a sessions court. District and Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Ranjha awarded four years imprisonment to accused Ghulam Hussain.
The accused was involved in smuggling narcotics while over 1.17 kilogramme of hashish was also seized from him.
Earlier, Additional Sessions Judge Ghulam Hussain Chaudhry convicted four drug pushers in Faisalabad. The prosecution told the court that Anti-Narcotics Force personnel conducted a raid and arrested Ikramullah, Muhammad Waseem, Hanif and Faqeer Hussain.
After hearing arguments, the judge handed down a five-year jail term to Ikramullah, three years imprisonment to Muhammad Waseem, and four years to Faqeer Hussain.
