Syed Gilani calls for shutdown
Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani on Saturday called for a complete shutdown in Indian held Kashmir.
SRINAGAR:
Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani on Saturday called for a complete shutdown in Indian held Kashmir as ruling United Progressive chairperson Sonia Gandhi is due to visit Jammu city.
Gandhi is likely to address a rally during the visit.
Public transport is off the roads while market places and government offices have also been closed.
This comes before Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's expected arrival in Jammu and Kashmir on June 7. His visit is aimed at resolving violence in the conflict-ridden state.
