IGP launches two apps to improve connection

Says Citizen Eye App and X-Service App are milestone in modern policing

Inspector General Punjab Arif Nawaz Khan inaugurated two new apps during his visit to the CCPO office and Qila Gujjar Singh police lines on Tuesday.

The Citizen Eye App and X-Service App are milestones in modern policing. “This will not only improve the connection between citizens and the police, but also take benefit from the experience of retired police officers.”

The IGP said that Lahore police is leading the use of information technology and its mobile apps and IT reforms are being replicated by other provinces. He added that keeping in view the ideology of advanced policing, he directed that these reforms should be disseminated to other provinces too and their monitoring should be ensured at any cost.

Khan said that police service is a sacred profession and a complete pattern of life in which praise and punishment is imperative. “All the officers and officials of Punjab police have made a promise that they would perform their duty of providing safety and security to citizens till their dying breath.  They are determined to continue this tradition in future too.”




Talking about the two newly launched apps, SSP admin said that every citizen of Lahore can give information, lodge a complaint and give recommendations to the higher officials to improve their performance through the Citizen Eye App. Locals can also send pictures and videos through this app that would help eradicate crime.

He further said that X-Service App is designed to get instant help from retired police officers so they can lend their experience to get the desired results. IG Punjab also appreciated the performance of Rana Ayaz Salim in the making of these apps. He said that they will not only help curb criminal activities, but also reinforce confidence between police and citizens.

E-policing: IGP stresses need for more IT-based projects

IG Punjab also inaugurated CCPO officers lounge at CCPO Lahore that has been made for the residence of the international delegations from Turkey China and other countries.

Later, IGP visited Qilla Gujar Singh Police Line, where he awarded the officers and officials from operations, investigation, traffic police, dolphin, anti-riots of other departments with cash prize for their good performance. Appreciating the officials, IG Punjab said that brave and dutiful officials are valuable asset of the department. “Officials should also win hearts of the public through their good behaviour.”
