Lahore minor 'assaulted' by neighbour

Talking to The Express Tribune, rights activist Taimur Kamal said that despite the outcry by rights activists in the aftermath of a child being raped and murdered in Kasur and a similar case in Mardan, child abuse was on the rise across the country since there was no mechanism for child protection in place.

“There is no scientific investigation mechanism and no effective child protection system,” he lamented, adding that the government must focus on the issue to protect children.
