Man stabs uncle to death over property issue

FAISALABAD: Two women committed suicide in separate incidents in the city during past 12 hours. Police said that Rabia, 25, a resident of Samanabad, consumed poisonous substance after quarrelling with her in-laws over a domestic dispute.

She was rushed to hospital where she breathed her last.

In another incident, Sana Bibi, wife of Luqman, also committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills over a domestic issue. The police handed over bodies to their relatives after completing necessary formalities.

A man stabbed his uncle to death over property dispute in the area of Batala Colony police station.

The police said that 40-year-old Usman, a resident of A-block D-Type Colony, had an old property dispute with his nephew Bilal. In a fit of rage, Bilal injured his uncle with a sharp edged weapon. The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police took the body into custody and started investigation.

Meanwhile, 10 persons of a family were hospitalised after taking toxic food in the area of Tandlianwala City police station.

The police said that family members of Haq Nawaz, residents of Chak No 429-GB, consumed tainted food due to which the condition of Mehmoodan Bibi, Nazia Bibi, Sehra, Rabia, Maryam, Nasir, Mudassar, Haq Nawaz, Sahil and Nasir deteriorated. All the victims were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Tandlianwala where medical treatment was being provided to them.
