Two killed in Mir Ali target killing incidents
In the wake of the incident locals carry out protest calling for culprits to be apprehended
MIRANSHAH:
At least two people were murdered in target killing incidents in North Waziristan's Mir Ali Tehsil.
One of the victims, son of former Member National Assembly (MNA) Maulana Mohammad Dindar, was killed after unidentified assailants opened fire upon him late Saturday night in Mirali, according to the political administration.
In the wake of the incident locals carried out a protest on Mirali Road where they have blocked it since morning and are calling for the culprits to be apprehended.
In a separate incident, religious scholar Maulana Ishaq’s son Abdul Qayyum was also gunned down. The political administration said the victim was a teacher in a government school.
The latest attacks bring the number of target killings in Mirali to five in the current month. The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata)’s North Waziristan agency has seen a sharp increase in such incidents.

Last month, four people were killed and 32 others injured when a hand grenade was hurled at a wedding ceremony in Dandai Saidgai village in North Waziristan, a senior political administration official told The Express Tribune.
The injured were moved to Peshawar and Agency Hospital in Miranshah for medical assistance. The official said that the injured included at least seven children and many wounded were critical.
