One Pakistani Army soldier embraced martyrdom on Thursday when terrorists fired at the Pakistani border post in Mohmand Agency, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Pakistani troops effectively responded to the cross-border attack and killed three terrorists during an exchange of fire.

The martyred soldier was identified as 21-year-old Farman Ullah.

On April 15, at least two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred and 12 injured in a cross-border skirmish along the Pak-Afghan border late on Saturday night, said a statement by the ISPR.

Originating from Afghanistan’s Khost province, the attack targeted FC troops conducting routine surveillance near the Laka Teega check-post in Lower Kurram Agency.

According to the ISPR, the security officials have countered the attack while ensuring there were no civilian casualties.

Last month, one soldier embraced martyrdom during security forces’ raid on the hideouts of banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in Kabu, Mastung area.

“During an exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed while two [others] were injured,” the ISPR said in a statement.
