LAHORE:
A woman legislator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the provincial government fix a special job quota for blind persons.

The demand was put forward by a PTI’s Dr Nausheed Hamid through a resolution she submitted in Punjab Assembly. She contended that the government should immediately fulfill the legitimate demands of blind people rather than “make fun of them”.

She said the visually impaired are being fooled by the Punjab government through different tactics.

Hamid added blind people were moving from pillar to post to get jobs for the last three years, but no appropriate measures had been taken to resolve their matter. She added government representatives sent them home after deceiving them through negotiations. She recalled a seven-day long sit in organised by the visually-impaired last month when false promises were made by the government just to control the situation.
