Ramazan Relief Package: CM orders controlling commodities prices

Directs department concerned to take strict action against stock mafia

Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo on Thursday directed authorities to ensure that prices of commodities do not spiral out of control during Ramazan.

“The departments concerned must ensure that prices of edibles are equal for all and take strict action against the stock mafia, who increase prices during Ramazan,” said the Balochistan chief minister while chairing a high-level session to review the Ramazan Relief Package.

Chief Secretary Aurangzeb Haq, finance secretary, industries secretary, Quetta commissioner and other officials were in attendance.

It was decided during the session to make functional District Price Control Committee and Monitoring Committee for conducting visits to markets regularly during Ramazan.


Bizenjo also directed the Quetta Electric Supply Company officials to make sure of uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehr, Iftar and Taraveeh.

“QESCO should refrain from extra loadshedding during Ramazan and provide relief to the people while they fast,” he added.

In the wake of Ramazan, CM Bizenjo increased funds for the divisional headquarter, commissioner and deputy commissioner.

“The provincial government is responsible for providing relief during the Holy month as all resources will be utilised during Ramazan and no negligence tolerated regarding Ramazan Relief Package,” said Bizenjo.

Bizenjo directed the Metropolitan Department to ensure cleanliness during Ramazan, while also ordering the district administrators to ensure Ramazan Relief Package in their respective areas.
