GOLF Woods targets US Open comeback

Woods had suffered strains to his left knee and left Achilles’ tendon while playing the TPC Sawgrass course last week.

NEW YORK:
Tiger Woods said he  expects to compete in next month’s US Open, the year’s second major.

Woods limped off the TPC Sawgrass course last week after just nine holes because of strains to his left knee and left Achilles’ tendon. “I’ll do whatever is necessary to play in the US Open, and I’m hopeful I can compete,” said Woods.
