Quality enhancement cells set up in colleges

To ensure that education being imparted at women colleges is up to the standard, a Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC’s) was setup at female colleges.

The  the Shaheed Benazir Women University (SBBWU) of Peshawar in collaboration with Higher Education Department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

This is the first initiative in K-P where a university approached the Higher Education Department (HED) for establishing QECs at its affiliated colleges. With the initiative in line with what the HED had been planning that the concept was accepted and QECs were established not only at the government degree colleges affiliated with SBBWU but all GDC across the province. The major function of QECs would be to ensure the quality and standards of the degrees awarded and overall quality of knowledge being imparted by the institute.


Two memorandums of understanding were also signed between the SBBWU and HED directorate to collaborate on the establishment of QECs at degree colleges in the province and to build the capacity of the QEC staff at the Colleges.

The first agreement was signed by HED Director Dr Subhnaullah Shah and SBBWU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Razia Sultana.

The second MoU was signed between Project Management Unit and SBBWU for cooperation in developing the PC-1 for setting up QECs in colleges and execution of the capacity–building-component.
