‘Country hit hard by changing climate’

KARACHI:
The Indus basin is being hit hard by the impacts of changing climate, according to the Adviser for Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan Dr Ishfaq Ahmad.


He was speaking at the national consultative workshop titled: ‘Impacts of Climate Change on Indus Basin: Coping Strategies for Pakistan’ organised by IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature in collaboration with International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Islamabad. The subject of climate change is at top in the Planning Commission, and the government is very keen to initiate necessary measures in this regard, he said.
