In a leaked internal document that was distributed amongst its authorised service providers, the company acknowledged that some iPhone 7, 7 Plus devices running iOS 11.3 or later are facing an issue with the Microphone, according to MacRumors.
Apple and Buffett saw value, and acted
The providers have been asked to first ask customers to disconnect any Bluetooth headsets or any other audio accessory that may be connected to their iPhone.
If the speakerphone is still unusable during a call, the providers have been instructed to run diagnostics. The affected devices would reportedly display an alert that says “device could not detect dock” or “accessory not support.” In this case, service providers can start the repairing process.

For the affected devices that are no longer covered by warranty, Apple has instructed providers to make an exception in this particular instance. The document has not specifically pointed out whether the repairs will be free or whether the customer will have to pay a certain amount.
The company has not publicly addressed the issue so far.
