'Avengers' star Elizabeth Olsen wants a less revealing superhero costume

Does this hint that she'll come back to life in the next installment?

There's no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War has become the highest grossing film of all time. But Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlett Witch in the hit film, has a small request.

According to Hindustan Times, the actor has stated that she would like her costume to be more than "just a cleavage corset" and go a little higher in the next installment.

Olsen said, "I like corsets but I’d like mine to be higher. Everyone has things that cover them — Tessa Thompson does and so does Scarlett Johansson. I would like to cover up a bit."

Continuing that her superhero costume hasn't been evolved, apart from the leotard and headband in the comics, the 29-year-old starlet explained, "It’s funny because sometimes I look around and I’m just like, 'Wow, I’m the only one who has cleavage'."


However, Olsen also realises that the film characters are meant to honour the comic book versions and not always represent the "average woman." She also spoke of the controversy surrounding Gal Gadot's costumer in Wonder Woman stating that it was "too revealing."

The Avengers actor added, “I think of the costumes and what we have to wear is more about iconic images. The goal with the costumes is that it's not representing the average woman.”

As talks of a female-only Marvel film gain momentum, Olsen that the future of her character lies in able hands explaining that the platform recognises their need to be inclusive with storylines and world representation. "Black Panther felt like such a huge thing in culture and Marvel is aware of it. Their goal is to not make the same stories that have happened over the years, which is why their films continue to be successful from a story and tone point of view."
