NAWABSHAH:
The flood caused by the 300-f00t-wide breach in Jamrao canal on Sunday, near Jam Sahib, has still not been plugged. The breach has not only inundated agricultural land, but has also harmed the area’s wildlife including many jackals, rabbits and crocodile eggs, said wildlife inspector Qaimuddin Dahri. The irrigation department brought machinery but the damage could not be controlled even after 48 hours. Sub-engineer Ghulam Hussain said that they had worked on Sunday night using a generator as there was no electricity in the area.
