MUZAFFARABAD:
Two civilians were martyred and two others injured from Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Indian posts targeted civilians using heavy automatic weapons, mortars and anti-tank guided missiles in Village Bramla, as well as, the Thub, Banchiran and Padhar sectors.

The Pakistan Army retaliated by targeted these Indian posts.

"Pakistani troops deployed in the area are giving a befitting response to Indian aggression, the official said.

Measures to protect LoC population demanded

The Indian army has carried out 1,970 ceasefire violations in 2017.

With the situation just as dire in 2018 as India has breached the truce agreement between the two countries more than 400 times in the first two months alone.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, as well as, acting Prime Minister Chaudhry Tariq Farooq condemned the Indian firing and expressed their sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
