FAISALABAD: Commercial Counselor Dr Martin Herzer has said that Germany intends to develop and strengthen mutual trade relations with Pakistan.

“Being a major trade partner in the European market, we will continue to support Pakistan to explore more avenues of bilateral trade,” he said. In a meeting with Pakistan Textile Exporters Association Vice Chairperson Ammar Saeed, Herzer said that Germany is one of the important trading partners of Pakistan and several companies are working in different trade fields in the country.

“Both countries have the potential to increase the trade volume and we must carve out ways and means to exploit the available potential,” he added.  He termed the GSP Plus a key driver for promoting bilateral trade and said with the duty free access to the EU, Pakistan-German trade volume reached 2.6 billion Euros last year with a growth of 16%.
