During interrogation, Rehman confessed to killing Atif

A nine-year-old child was killed was killed by his adopted brother in Faisalabad’s Nawan Lahore area.

Police said Sajid Abbas, a resident of Chak No 337, had assumed guardianship of his nephew Muhammad Rehman whom he had adopted from his sister. However, a few years later, Abbas’s wife gave birth to their biological son, Muhammad Atif. Despite this, Abbas labeled his adopted nephew as his own son.

Killing of principal: Motive was a personal grievance, says police

The two children failed to get along and their fight came to an ugly end when Muhammad Rehman strangled his nine-year-old cousin Muhammad Atif after taking him to the fields. The victim’s body was left in the fields after which the father filed a complaint with the police station.

The body was later recovered from the fields and shifted to Rural Health Centre of Nawan Lahore. The police took Rehman into custody for interrogation and he confessed to the crime.

Later, the body was handed over to the family after legal formalities. The deceased was laid to rest at the local graveyard. Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and directed the DPO to present a detailed report.


Verdict: Man gets life term for killing brother-in-law

A murder case has been registered against the accused at the police station.

Earlier, a man gunned down his nephew over a family dispute in Sillanwali police limits, Sargodha.

The police said Liaqat Ali, a resident of Chak No 140-SB, had an argument with his nephew Ghulam Muhammad over some family matters. On the day of the incident, accused Liaqat allegedly shot his nephew Ghulam Muhammad dead and fled the scene.
