Art exhibition at Zulfi Gallery
Exhibition features 32 oil paintings by the artist

Karachi based artist Shami Ahmed’s paintings were displayed in an exhibition at Zulfi Art Gallery on Tuesday. Talking about her work, Ahmed revealed that she had always loved working with oil paints on canvas. In this exhibition, women are portrayed experiencing different states of mind, she pointed out. It is the first time I have displayed my work; I am pleasantly surprised by the astounding response I have received, she said. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest, Punjab Artist Association Chairman Ijazul Hassan, and featured 32 oil paintings by the artist. Talking to Express News, Hassan praised Ahmed’s work and lauded her ability to harness her subject’s expressions on canvas. Renowned painter Saeed Akhtar said that every painting told a different story and depicted the artist’s unique imagination. The exhibition will conclude on May 5.
