Rangers arrest seven suspects

Drug dealer operating in Clifton, Defence among those picked up

KARACHI: The Rangers conducted operations in several areas of the city on Saturday and arrested seven suspects. During the raids, large amounts of narcotics, weapons and ammunition were seized.

In a series of ongoing operations, the Sindh Rangers conducted a raid in Sharafi Goth’s Mansehra Colony and arrested a suspect identified as Alamgir. The Rangers suspect him of being a drug dealer and recovered 28.5 kilogrammes of hashish, one sack of packing material, one motorcycle and two mobile phones from his possession during the raid.

During investigations it was discovered that Alamgir sold drugs to young residents of Defence Housing Authority and Clifton. The Rangers said that they will hand over Alamgir to the police for further investigations.

In other raids in the city in areas falling under the jurisdictions of the Aziz Bhatti, Bahadurabad and Darkashan police station the Rangers arrested six suspects. The arrested suspects were identified as Wajahat Aalim, son of Wajeeh, Shehzad Mehboob, Salman Shiraz, Usama, Ghulam Shabbir and Sanaullah, son of Sunny.

According to reports, the suspects were wanted by the police for street crimes and drug dealing. In their possession, the Rangers found weapons, bullets and drugs. The paramilitary force handed them over to the police for further investigations.
