Document processing system: Commissioner fixes timelines

Domiciles for locals hailing from the Islamabad district should also be issued the same day

ISLAMABAD: The capital’s new Chief Commissioner Aftab Akbar Durrani has fixed a timeline for processing public documents. Durrani said that the purpose of this public delivery system is to provide quick service to the people visiting offices of ICT Administration. Chairing a meeting of ICT Administration, he directed that international driving licenses will now be issued on the same day. Similarly, domiciles for locals hailing from the Islamabad district should also be issued the same day. Those, whose domiciles belong to other districts, should be issued within a week. Arms licences issued from the ICTA will be renewed within a week. Those issued by the Ministry of Interior would be renewed within two weeks. The meeting also decided that the motor registration process will be sped up and number plates will be issued the same day.
