A property inheritance dispute between siblings turned ugly after a sister was allegedly subjected to brutal violence on Saturday in Punjab’s Khanewal district, Express News  reported.

The victim, a resident of Makhdumpur Chak No 1, had demanded her share of the family’s property.

However, her brothers rejected her claim on the inheritance. She retaliated by threatening to file a case in court.

Reportedly, the brothers cornered Akhtar Bibi outside her house and chopped off her legs with an axe before fleeing from the scene of  the crime.

An FIR has been lodged against the brothers as local police initiated investigation in the case. A search operation is underway to apprehend the suspects.

Earlier in March, one man died and another one was injured in a firing incident in Sargodha.

Police officials said that Muhammad Iqbal and his cousin Muhammad Khurram had an argument over a family matter – two days later the matter escalated and both started firing bullets at each other.

Both men were shifted to the hospital after sustaining injuries where Iqbal breathed his last while Khurram remained in critical condition.
