Three absconding suspects killed in Rawalpindi police ‘encounter’

Three suspects, who had escaped from police custody in Khushab earlier this month, were killed in an alleged police encounter in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Suspects Imran, Masood and Nasr had broken out of the lockup at Jauharabad police station in Khushab on April 4, Express News reported.

According to the Motorway Police, the absconding suspects were detected through the tracking system installed in their vehicle on a tipoff from Khushab police.

They were surrounded by the police in Chakri Service area by blocking the traffic.

Additional police contingent from Rawalpindi was also called in to arrest the suspects, who opened fire on sighting the police party injuring at least one policeman.

All three absconders were killed in retaliatory fire by the Rawalpindi police.
