Says no country can ignore attacks on its territorial integrity

Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Thursday stated that the success against the menace of terrorism is assisting the nation in realising the vision of a democratic Pakistan.

“A democratic Pakistan seeks to attract private investment to augment its economic stature,” he said at the three-day International Counter Terrorism Forum in Islamabad.

“Terrorists are trying to undermine our sovereignty and no country can ignore attacks on its territorial integrity,” he added.

The foreign minister further said that Pakistan has been a major victim of terrorism and the whole nation stands united against the fight against terror.


“The nation has unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism,” Asif added.

Addressing the seminar Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed the same stance and said terrorism was a global challenge and collaboration was the only way forward to defeat the menace.

"Terrorism cannot be defeated by blame games and without defusing the conflicts," he added while stressing the need for systematic approach to permanently address the issue.

He further added that the conflict in Afghanistan and Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) pose serious challenges to diffuse extremism from the region.

The interior minister alleged India was fomenting conflicts in the region and it was utmost necessary for the international community to intervene to play its due role in resolving the conflicts.
