Taking action: PHC seals 7,950 ‘clinics’

LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) closed down 7,950 ‘clinics’ operated by quacks in the province and imposed fines worth Rs61.5 million. During the current campaign, PHC teams sealed 27 clinics in different parts of the city and its suburbs. The sealed shops belonged to 19 ‘general practitioners’, five ‘dentists’, two ‘hakeems’, and one ‘joint expert’. The clinics against which action was taken include Iqbal Clinic, Ali Clinic, Tauseef Clinic, Riaz Clinic, Al-Shifa Clinic, Arshad Clinic, Amjad Clinic, Waheed Clinic, Abbas Clinic, Al Amjad Clinic, Ilyas Clinic, Irshad Clinic, Bahoo Welfare Clinic and Hospital, Ali Tasawwar Shah Clinic, Kashif Clinic, Fatima Medical Centre, Abu Huraira Clinic and Madina Clinic.
