Three killed in Karachi-Hyderabad highway accident

Trailer driver who is allegedly responsible for accident managed to escape from the scene

KARACHI: At least three people were killed in a road accident Monday morning on the Karachi-Hyderabad highway, near Nooriabad.

The accident took place when a trailer and a car collided. Three others suffered serious injuries due to the collision. The bodies and the injured were shifted to nearby hospital and then brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Zafar, Farhan and Shakir. The trailer driver who is allegedly responsible for the accident, managed to escape from the scene. The police have impounded a vehicle.

Edhi officials said the victims belong to a family from Karachi and the accident took place when they were returning to the metropolis from Hyderabad.

Five killed, 10 injured in truck-coach collision in Karachi

In January, at least five people were killed and 10 others, including women and children, injured during a road mishap in the outskirts of Karachi. The casualties took place after a passenger coach collided with a truck near the Northern Bypass within the limits of the Manghopir police station.
