Addressing a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) rally in Dera Ghazi Khan, the newly-elected president of the party regretted wasting time in ‘dozens of court hearings’ after the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) opened a reference against him on the matter, Express News reported.
“I will apologise to the whole nation if NAB could prove corruption in the Multan metro project,” he added, urging CJP Mian Saqib Nisar to launch an investigation into the allegations under a full SC bench.
Lashing out at the political opponents, the Punjab CM said Imran Khan ‘Niazi’ and Asif Ali Zardari had joined hands for personal gains and were hurling unfounded allegations against his party.
ECP notifies Shehbaz Sharif as PML-N president
“Imran Khan hasn’t done any work in his province [Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa] and he is promoting the culture of lies. He lied about the billion tree project … he is a coward and will run away as politics is not his cup of tea. He should instead ask the Almighty for forgiveness at some shrine.”
The PML-N president said those who criticise us for only constructing roads, bridges and metro bus projects should visit DG Khan and see for themselves the newly constructed hospital and school in the area. “we are also building a teaching hospital here,” he added.
“People will decide who served them and who wasted their time,” Shehbaz said, vowing that the PML-N will hand in an exemplary defeat to the political opponents in the upcoming elections.
