Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry says that the vacant Leader of Opposition position in the Senate is PTI’s right.

For the setup of the upcoming general elections, Chaudhry said PPP has reached out to PTI to suggest names for the caretake prime minister. “We will partake in this decision fully, the names of the caretaker CMs for Punjab and K-P will also be provided. Sheikh Rasheed would prove to be a good caretaker PM,” he further added.

Addressing the media in Islamabad, along with other leaders, Chaudhry said that "the letter written by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senator Sherry Rehman to the Chairman Senate is ‘Calibri’ part two."

Chaudhry further said that Shehbaz Sharif has spent Rs900 billion in Punjab, but education and healthcare were still in an abysmal state. He also added that the developmental projects in Punjab are only seen in newspapers, "had the funds been spent on citizens, it would have been a different story."

The PTI leader stated that the decision to change police uniform in Punjab was a strange one. He alleged that Rs24 million were spent on their badges and belts. "Close to 800,000 meters cloth has been bought for the new uniforms and now the old uniforms are being renewed again" he said. The "sasti roti" scheme saw Rs40 billion spent, of which there was no audit.

"The arrest of Ahad Cheema in the Ashiyana Housing Scheme scandal is a new story in the corruption tale, Chaudhry tells. Millions have been spent on ‘Danish’ schools. The Yellow Cab scheme has also been shut down. Billions of rupees were wasted on the laptop scheme. And none of the aforementioned scandals have ever been investigated properly," he further added.

The PTI leader said that Nawaz Sharif’s cases are going to an end, the Sharifs have admitted to their London properties. Husain Nawaz has also conceded to his ownership of some 16 companies, and 300 arab rs were put in these companies. “All these allegations have been conceded to by the Sharif family,” he added.

“What does NAB need to prove now?” he further asked. “All that needs to happen is that the charges need to be framed. Nawaz has hidden his sons in London and put his daughter on the forefront of his politics.”
