Electricity LHC issues notices to govt, WAPDA
Advocate Rana Ilamudin Ghazi filed the petition.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the federal government and Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman on a petition seeking directions for the federal government to disclose all under-construction projects aimed at ending power crisis and to inform the court as to when these projects would start production.
Advocate Rana Ilamudin Ghazi filed the petition questioning the alleged failure of government functionaries to overcome power crisis and their tall claims to end electricity outages soon.
The petitioner has claimed that China had offered Pakistan to supply domestic and commercial electricity connections on Rs500 and Rs3000 per month respectively.
He asked that the government be directed to explain as to why that offer was not accepted if there was any agreement with China in this regard.
