The rupee gained on Tuesday against the greenback to close at 84.85 to the dollar, from Monday’s close of 85.18.

The rupee gained on Tuesday against the greenback to close at 84.85 to the dollar, from Monday’s close of 85.18.
The local currency strengthened as the dollar took a further decline in the global market.
The rupee has performed strongly in recent months due to a healthy inflow of remittances and record exports. It also hit an 11-month high last month.
