The Aga Khan University’s (AKU) nursing division is organising a ceremony to celebrate International Day of the Midwife (IDM) and International Nurses Day (IND) on May 12 at the AKU Auditorium.
The programme will be inaugurated by Sitarae Imtiaz Dr Abdul Gaffar Billoo, who is also a professor at AKU.
IDM aims to affirm a global commitment to a strong midwifery workforce and the theme for IDM this year is ‘The world needs midwives today more than ever’.
The International Council of Nurses has announced ‘Closing the gaps increasing access and equity’ as the theme for IND 2010.
