He expressed these views while addressing employees at his office. The task of commissioning projects such as Kachhi Canal, Golen Gol and the Tarbela extension had been accomplished with expertise, sheer dedication and hard work on part of the WAPDA team, he added.
The Prime Minister, addressing the inaugural ceremony of Tarbela 4th Extension Hydropower Project on March 10, had also acknowledged the 'turn-around' in WAPDA. He said that WAPDA had once again assumed the historic role it used to play 40 years ago.
He stated that the Prime Minister had also approved honouraria for WAPDA employees in recognition of their services.

The chairman said that the core function of WAPDA is to implement its projects in the shortest timeframe possible while maintaining quality standard.
Simultaneously, he is focused on the betterment of the workforce seeing as how they are valuable assets to the company. He expressed that he considered WAPDA a family. The role of every member is equally important; everybody has to play the given role with the utmost commitment, he said.
Addressing current measures in place for the welfare of officials, the chairman said that the WAPDA Medical College will be made functional by the end of this year. Children of employees from Grade 1 to 16 will be entitled to education free-of-charge.
Furthermore, a cardiac centre is being set up at WAPDA Hospital Complex Lahore, while gynecology facilities are also being upgraded. He added that plans for a housing scheme for employees are also coming to fruition.
