Islamabad beat Multan, qualify for playoffs

Islamabad United thrashed Multan Sultans in the 25th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by 33 runs in Sharjah on Tuesday.

After being put on to bat first, United posted a mammoth total of 185 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi finished the innings with the top score of 58 off 36 with the help of six fours and three sixes.

For Sultans, pacer Umar Gul was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed two wickets.

In reply, Sultans were bowled out for 152 on the first delivery of the last over.

All-rounder Kieron Pollard finished the innings with the top score of 73 off 47 with the help of five fours and six sixes.
