An accountability court on Monday awarded five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs9.2 million to Syed Mohsin Ali in fake housing scheme case, while co-accused Rohi Mohammad Achakzai was sentenced to three years in prison and fined Rs900,000.
According to a NAB press release, the accused Mohsin Ali Khan established a fake housing scheme named Gulshan Hasan Housing Scheme in Brewery Road area of the city.
The accused, after receiving a handsome amount from the local people, did not hand over the piece of land to them.

The NAB Balochistan initiated probe into the fake housing scheme on complaints and filed a reference in the accountability court after thorough investigation.
Accountability Court Judge Justice Abdul Majid Naseer in light of the investigations conducted by the NAB sentenced five years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs9.2 million on Syed Mohsin Ali. Besides, the court also awarded three years imprisonment to Rohi Achakzai and fined her Rs900,000.
