Pakistan Express narrowly escaped an accident on Sunday in Karachi after residents alerted the train to a broken railway track, reported Express News.

The ragged railway track near Malir Kala Board stop had broken due to the movement of several trains. By waving a red cloth, locals alerted the driver thus averting the tragedy.

Ministry to submit PC-1 for new railway tracks soon

The driver responded promptly and stopped the train and the large number of passengers travelling in the train were saved from a possible accident.

Railway authorities reached the scene to repair the broken track and later directed Pakistan Express towards its destination.

According to authorities, the breakage of fish plate had occurred accidentally. Four inches of the railway track had broken down while three bolts had sprung out.

Preliminary investigations did not provide any evidence of terror attack.
