Indian forces martyr two youth in separate incidents
One killed in police custody, other succumbed to injuries obtained during siege, search operation
Indian troops martyred a youth in Occupied Kashmir on Monday, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The youth succumbed to injuries suffered during firing by the Indian forces during a siege and search operation in Hajin area of District Bandipore.
Several were injured during clashes with Indian forces after a joint team of Indian army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and police cordoned off the area early Monday morning.
The Indian troops were forced to call off the cordon after facing resistance by the locals.
In another incident, a youth was killed in police custody in IoK's Tral area of District Pulwama.
According to KMS, Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan was killed in a 'staged' grenade blast inside the Tral police station. The police maintained that the grenade attack was targeting the police station however, the locals refuted that claim and insisted that Chopan was killed in police custody. They said police blasted the grenade to portray it as an attack on police station.
Chopan was arrested along with two others on January 9 in Sopore.
Massive clashes between protesters and Indian forces erupted in Tral following the killing of the Kashmiri youth. A complete shutdown was observed in the area.
