Overseas Pakistanis Commission claims to have helped an expatriate Pakistani woman retrive her property

LAHORE: Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab claimed to have helped an expatriate Pakistani lady retrieve possession of her house worth Rs3 million in a housing society. A Kuwait-based Overseas Pakistani woman Shehnaz Begum had lodged a complaint with OPC that she purchased a house in a private housing society of Lahore in 2012 and made all the payment but she was yet to get possession of the house. After her complaint, OPC team contacted the administration of the said housing society and ensured the provision of house to expatriate Pakistani woman. Meanwhile, Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Chairperson Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti have said that innovative step of establishing OPC has been taken to secure the rights of Pakistanis living abroad. Since its inception, OPC has exhibited exceptional performance in resolution of complaints of expatriates and more than 60% of the received complaints have been resolved amicably so far.
