National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has ordered an enquiry against Minister for Interprovincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Akhtar Ganjeera over allegations of corruption and misuse of authority.

According to a NAB statement, the chairman received a number of complaints against the accused, in which evidence of the crimes was provided.

The chairman directed Rawalpindi bureau DG to inquire the alleged corruption in various departments of PSB and funds provided to different sports federations, especially the non-transparent grant of funds to Narowal Sports City, Liaquat Gymnasium and others.

Rawalpindi NAB DG was also directed to investigate whether foreign tours of ministers, secretaries, PSB DG and their family members on the federation’s expense had caused losses to the national exchequer.

The Rawalpindi DG was also tasked with probing illegal appointments made in the PSB, dilapidated condition of country's different stadiums despite the release of funds, devouring of funds allocated for maintenance of stadiums and non-existent training camps for players.

The NAB chairman also directed Quetta NAB DG to probe Balochistan MPA Aneeta Irfan over misuse of authority in allotting plots of Christian Welfare Housing Authority Bashirabad in Quetta to non-deserving Christians.
