They directed the CDA to amend their policy in light of court orders
ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over a report submitted by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) regarding illegal construction of marriage halls in the capital and adjourned the hearing of the case till Tuesday.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, heard the case. They directed the CDA to amend their policy in light of court orders. During the course of Monday’s proceedings, Additional Attorney General Rana Waqar appeared before the bench and told them that the civic body had formulated a policy regarding marriage halls in the capital.
He added that the administration of the marriage halls will be responsible for security and parking at the halls. Justice Bandial, though, observed that the CDA report made no mention about where would the waste generated at these halls go.
