Two militants involved in killing of three security personnel arrested in DI Khan
Militants were involved in an attack that martyred three security officials
DI KHAN:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a search operation in Dera Ismail Khan and arrested two militants on Sunday.
The CTD officials, acting on an intelligence tip, arrested Ajmal and Jamal from Kota Tong station in DI Khan.
A statement by the CTD said that the militants were involved in 2015 terrorist attack in which three security personnel were martyred and another three injured.
In January, a key facilitator involved in last year’s terror attack on Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Peshawar, which left eight people dead and 23 injured, was been arrested by CTD.
K-P Assembly demands inquiry into ATI terrorist attack
“We arrested the facilitator after we traced the auto rickshaw used in the attack,” a senior police official told The Express Tribune.
The man, identified as Muhammad Ibrahim, is a resident of Tarangzai, Charsadda and was taken into custody from the Shah Alam area on the outskirts of the city.
The official said Ibrahim purchased the stolen vehicle and then sold it to the attackers. The rickshaw was used for the sole purpose to dodge investigators, he added.
“During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect was involved in other terrorist attacks too,” the official said.
