ACE launches probe against illegal plazas

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment of Rawalpindi has initiated an inquiry against officers of the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation over the construction of illegal plazas on Murree Road.

Rawalpindi Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Director Arif Raheem told APP on Sunday that Circle Officer Amjad Shahzad had been appointed as an inquiry officer for the probe.

The investigation was approved after a preliminary probe found that officers of the Rawal Town Tehsil Municipal Authority (TMA) including Malik Tauseef Ahmad, Town Officer Regulation (TOR) Malik Mukhtar Ahmad, TOR Shahzad Naveed Gohar, TOR Arshad Khan, Building Inspector Ghulam Mustafa Shah, enforcement inspectors Shamsher Shah, Haji Mukhtar Ahmad, Tariq Yousuf, Muhammad Sohail, Muhammad Saleem Khan and Gul Rahman.
