QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has said that the committee constituted to investigate students allegations about discrepancies in the entry test of BMC has submitted its report and the final decision will be taken after all stakeholders reach a consensus.

“During my visit to the students’ camp the other day I had promised to constitute a committee that will submit its report within two days, and today the committee, headed by Quetta deputy commissioner, has submitted its inquiry report along with recommendations,” said the chief minister while addressing a presser at the Chief Minister Secretariat on Saturday.

Bizenjo pledged full justice for medical students protesting since February 6 against the mismanagement in the entry test of Bolan Medical College outside the Quetta Press Club.

He said, “After reviewing the report I will not let anyone responsible for the error off the hook as our regime believes in merit.”

Bizenjo said that the test was conducted under the supervision of Higher Education Commission (HEC) which is a professional institution, adding that the Balochistan High Court ordered the HEC to monitor the entry test.

“We are not pointing out HEC’s credibility, but the staff showed some negligence and mismanagement that endangers the future of thousands of students coming from remote areas of Balochistan,” he added.

Bizenjo said the report revealed that during the test some students were caught using their cell phones which were seized by the administration. There were up to 7,000 to 8000 students which were hard to monitor, he added.

“The only option left is to conduct an entry test afresh, but we will take the final decision after consensus with all stakeholders, including chief secretary and HEC representatives,” the chief minister added.

A meeting has been called in this regard.
