Embassy, LCCI join hands: Pakistan plans to set up display centre in Kuala Lumpur
Marketing called the most effective tool to expand businesses
LAHORE:
Pakistan’s embassy in Malaysia, in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), will establish a buying house and display centre for Pakistani products in Kuala Lumpur to offer customers best-quality Pakistani products.
The decision was made in a meeting at the embassy between Pakistan High Commissioner in Malaysia Nafees Zakaria and LCCI President Malik Tahir Javaid.
The high commissioner said the embassy would take all possible measures to introduce Pakistani products to the Malaysians. He urged LCCI members to avail themselves of the opportunity and grab the attention of foreign buyers through the display centre.
The LCCI president said the display centre would be beneficial for both countries and the business community.
“Increasing exports is a must to bring foreign exchange to the country; in the present global scenario, marketing is the most effective tool to expand businesses, whether large or small,” he said.
He cited lack of proper marketing as a major reason behind the limited exports from Pakistan, but emphasised that the LCCI was striving to remove the obstacle.
He urged the businessmen to contact the chamber to get the opportunity of showcasing their products at the display centre.
Javaid also asked Pakistani entrepreneurs to concentrate on branding as consumers always preferred branded products, thus a huge amount of foreign exchange could be earned as Pakistani products were among the best in the world.
