Punjab collecting 97% of taxes through e-payment: Pasha
Provincial finance minister speaks at launch of online business registration portal
LAHORE:
Punjab is collecting almost 97% of its taxation through e-payments, said Provincial Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Punjab Information Technology Board’s (PITB) developed online Business Registration Portal at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Pasha said that the Punjab government was determined to make Pakistan a developed country by enhancing the growth rate through improved security and energy conditions. She said that this would provide a conducive environment for the private sector by ensuring ease of doing business by integrating more departments in the portal.
The portal is developed for the Punjab Planning and Development Department in collaboration with the industries department. It aims to provide an online solution to execute all business processes in a user-friendly environment, and to improve productivity to conduct business registration activities efficiently and in a timely manner.
Also speaking on the occasion, PITB Chairman Umar Saif said that all large functions of Punjab have been digitised during the last five years, which include police, health, education, e-stamping, e-ticketing, subsidies on various services, transfer of property, among various other services.
Planning and Development Department Punjab Chairman Jahanzeb Khan said that the task of ease of doing business has a wide range of activities to improve performance on key doing business indicators.
