A minor girl was killed on Wednesday and her sister wounded when robbers opened fire during an attempted mugging in the Korangi area.
The incident took place in Korangi No 5 when at least two robbers were mugging a passerby at a market. Police officials said the robbers opened indiscriminate fire after the man whom they were mugging offered resistance, adding that the two school going sisters who were passing nearby were caught in the firing.

The sisters were immediately taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where six-year-old Noor Fatima succumbed to her injuries while nine-year-old Sabiha received treatment. According to the police, the sisters lived in the same locality where they were shot.
The robbers fled the scene after the firing. A case has been registered while further investigations are under way.
