KARACHI:

A girl who was accompanied by young Intizar Ahmed, who was shot dead by Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) personnel in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) a few days ago, has recorded her statement with the police.

Intizar was shot late Saturday evening on Khayaban-e-Ittehad after the officials and personnel of ACLC resorted to indiscriminate fire at a White Corolla, killing the victim on the spot.

Although the police had initially claimed that the boy was killed in an act of targeted killing by at least two armed assailants riding a motorcycle, it was later revealed that the ACLC officials and personnel were behind the brutal murder of Intizar.

Later, the Darakshan police had arrested eight of the nine ACLC personnel while the remaining one has yet to be arrested.

It was revealed that a young girl was also accompanied by the victim at the time of the incident, however, the girl disappeared since the incident as she left the crime site on a rickshaw.

On the victims' father's demand, the police traced and approached the girl and recorded her statement. "Yes, we have recorded her statement," confirmed District South Investigations SP Farooq Awan while talking to The Express Tribune.

The girl, M*, recorded her statement with the police saying that she was accompanied by Intizar when the incident occurred, but she maintained that she did not see the culprits who opened fire at Intizar.

"Shortly after we got burgers, Intizar's friend came and shook hands with him but he did not get out of the car," she told the investigators.

"Suddenly, a black car then followed and tried to block our car. Soon after, another car and motorcycle came and attempted to stop Intizar. They opened indiscriminate fire at the car when Intizar sped up the car," she said.

She said that she could not understand what was going on at the time and even when she asked Intizar, he remained silent.

Sumayya Iqbal | 6 years ago | Reply An innocent soul lost his life and all you care about is the “na mehram” girl sitting with him in the car? Always remember that what goes around comes around. Stop mocking the deceased and his family because God forbid one day the girl could be someone related to you. So stop worrying about the ‘affair’ and focus on the actual problem here. May be family get the justice they deserve.
