Nine inspectors, 23 officials hounoured

LAHORE: A farewell ceremony in honour of nine inspectors and 23 traffic officials who were either retiring or being transferred to others wings was held at Chief Traffic Police (CTO) office on Monday. CTO Rai Ijaz Ahmad, Licensing DSP Imtiaz-ul-Rehman, DSP City Circle Shahzad Khan and other police officers participated in the event. Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad said that City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) was a force of martyrs and ghazis. They sacrifice even their lives to maintain flow of traffic on roads of Lahore. Ahmad appreciated the officers and said that they had sacrificed their life for public service and which was not lesser than jihad. “The retired police officers are welcome to discuss any of their issues. My doors are always open for them,” he added. He also instructed other officers to cooperate with the retiring officers in any of their problems. At the end, Ahmad awarded shields, bouquets and certificates among them.
